Assam : New District & Sessions Court At Hatsingimari Inaugurated

Justice Achintya Malla Bujor Barua, Judge of the Gauhati High Court has inaugurated the District & Sessions Court at Hatsingimari of South Salmara-Mankachar District on 06th November, 2021. The erstwhile South Salmara-Mankachar sub-division was elevated to the status of a district in the year 2016. The inauguration programme was attended by the District & Sessions Judge of Dhubri District, newly appointed District & Sessions Judge of South Salmara-Mankachar District, learned other Judicial Officers, Local MLA of Mankachar Constituency, Deputy Commissioner and Superintendent of South Salmara-Mankachar District, President of Lawyer's Association, Dhubri and other learned Advocates along with a host of other dignitaries.

Before inaugurating this new district Court complex; litigants of this track had to move to the District Court at Dhubri which could be reached after 3 hours of arduous journey by crossing the mighty Brahmaputra River. In the rainy season the journey becomes more difficult and apprehensive to life. Moreover, the means of communication was also not readily accessible. After opening the new district judiciary, the difficulties faced by the litigants will be removed.
