The Allahabad High Court has extended all the interim orders passed by it and by the courts subordinate to it, that expired subsequent to March 19, till July 31, 2020.
Further, orders of eviction, dispossession or demolition shall remain in abeyance and orders of regular/anticipatory have been extended till July 31.
The order has been passed by a division bench comprised by Justice Govind Mathur and Saumitra Dayal Singh, in a suo moto haring conducted in their residence office, to ensure that litigants do not suffer on account of the Covid induced lockdown.
The High Court had earlier extended all orders till June 29, 2020 and the matter was to be taken up for review on June 30. However, the same being declared as a holiday, the court has decided the situation will be reviewed on July 6, 2020 and it is intimated that all interim orders, etc. will remain in force until July 10. Later, the period was extended till July 14.
The order passed by the division bench today states,
"Having considered all the relevant facts and circumstances, we deem it appropriate to extend our earlier orders dated 8th June, 2020, 19th June, 2020 and also 10th July, 2020 till 31st July, 2020."
In effect:
The Principal seat of the Allahabad High Court has been closed for two days, i.e. July 14 and 15, given the rising number of Covid cases in the city. Lucknow bench of the High Court is hearing cases only via VC.
