The Karnataka High Court on Thursday orally said advocates and parties in person who are appearing in matters being heard before the court should not comment on social media about subjects which are dealt by the court.

The suggestion was made after BBMP Counsel Advocate Sreenidhi V, appearing in the batch of petitions regarding covid-19 management informed the court that "All of us are working towards fighting covid. I request my friend Advocate Mr A to go slow on the tweets he has been making on social media.

Following which the bench said "Those parties and lawyers who are appearing should not comment on social media about subjects which are dealt with by the court. We don't think there is any disagreement on this."

The bench accordingly concluded the discussion at that.
