Negotiation Workshop by Dr. Claudia Winkler , LL.M. (Harvard)

For the first time in India, The Great Legal Negotiator Workshop by Dr. Claudia Winkler, LL.M. (Harvard) is being introduced and hosted by the Network for International Law Students (NILS). The Great Legal Negotiator workshop focuses on giving you an introduction into the most important negotiation skills and theories, such as, the Harvard principled negotiation principles. We will talk about the difference between interest-based negotiation and bargaining, the key factors of success and failure in each negotiation and the most important steps in preparing for an upcoming negotiation. You will have the opportunity to do some real life negotiations and gain hands-on experience and feedback that you can use in your next negotiation immediately.

The Workshop will be certified for law and non-law students interested in honing their negotiation skills to leverage their career.

The Workshop will focus on:

• Powerful negotiation techniques;


• Effective professional communication;


• Client-focused representation.

This interactive workshop mixes theory and negotiation exercises so you can:

• Learn the concepts and tools for effective preparation and execution of negotiations;


• Maximize your leverage and keep control throughout the negotiation;


• Gain hands-on experience and feedback that you can use in your next negotiation immediately.

Workshop Format:

The Module of the Workshop is designed in a manner to make it highly practical, intense and result oriented. You will experience extensive simulations and case studies involving your role as a Client and a Counsel to provide an opportunity of real-life applications, probing and development of skills.
