Popular Malayalam Actor Kavya Madhavan has moved the Kerala High Court with an application for anticipatory bail in the case concerning the abduction and assault of another popular Malayalam actress. Her husband, Dileep, who is allegedly the mastermind behind the incident, is currently in judicial custody after his bail plea was rejected by the Court thrice.

In another development the Angamaly Magistrate Court has reserved its order in the Application for statutory bail  filed by Dileep.

Ms. Madhavan claims to have approached the Court in view of “a totally biased, partisan, doctored and ill motivated investigating team which in a systematic way is torturing, humiliating and harassing the petitioner in public”.

She submits that the investigating team had threatened to array her as an accused in the case, “with a view to intimidate all persons associated with the petitioner’s husband”. She alleges that the authorities are trying to fabricate her connection to the case and are bringing in false evidence to prove that the main accused Pulsar Suni was her driver.

Ms. Madhavan has further contended that the plans for her arrest have been solely based on Suni’s statement, without taking into consideration other evidence that points towards the falsity of the entire scenario. She has, in fact, raised allegations against the investigating team as well, claiming that it has been acting with “malafides and ulterior motives” against her husband.

Her application acknowledges the claims made by Suni, who was arrested by the Police days after the incident. Suni had referred to a certain “Madam” several times during the interrogations, stating that she had given him money to commit the crime but confirming that she was not aware of the bigger conspiracy. Thereafter, in August, Suni had revealed that the “Madam” he had been talking about was Ms. Madhavan.

Denying Suni’s claims, she asserts, “Such utter rubbish and falsehood are only few among the nasty debasing and stinking rotten statement given by a proved thief. All these would show the diabolic and dastardly nature and character of the persons who have designed this scheme to finish Dileep and family.”

She, thereby, submits that if she is arrested and detained in connection with the case, it will “irreparable harassment and humiliation to her and completely destroy her career and life”.
