  • RGNUL Observes National Constitution Day

    Commemorating the formal adoption of the Constitution of India by the Constituent Assembly on November 26, 1949, RGNUL Punjab observed National Constitution Day. Prof. BK Kuthalia, Chairman State Higher Education Council, Panchkula talked about constitutionalism and the National Education Policy 2020 during online lecture organized by IQAC. "Constitutionalism," he said, "took shape during the national movement of independence." Alluding to innovative recommendations of NEP, Prof. Kuthalia said, "The policy aims to transform India into vibrant knowledge society. It is a plan of action to change the system of goverance." He reiterated that Indian education system required structural reforms and not 'cosmetic changes'. "With a focus on skill enhancement, multidisciplinary studies, academic bank credit and research, NEP 2020 reimagines vocational education," he added. He said that NEP will initiate vocational education in schools. Students will have flexible curricular framework. "Essential learning, experiental learning and critical thinking will enhance skills of students to meet new requirements of the 21st century," he elaborated.

    Prof. Naresh Kumar Vats, Registrar, RGNUL also focused on the holistic development envisaged by NEP 2020. Dr. Kamaljit Kaur, Coordinator, IQAC, extended vote of thanks.
