Valedictory And Award Ceremony Of Project Saksham 2.0

The Valedictory and Award Ceremony of Project Saksham 2.0, a collaborative legal aid and legal literacy initiative, took place at the Conference Centre, University of Delhi, on December 5, 2023. The esteemed event was graced by the presence of the Former Chief Justice of India, Justice Dipak Misra, who served as the chief guest. Special guests included ASP Deepak Sharma, Jailer Tihar Jail CJ-03, and Mr. Himal Akhtar, Co-Chairman of Bar Council of Delhi.
Project Saksham 2.0, a joint effort of Law Centre 1, Law Centre 2 Faculty of Law University of Delhi, University School of Law and Legal Studies Indraprastha University, School of Law HILSR Jamia Hamdard, NEK Mission Foundation, and Naksh Foundation, aimed at providing free legal aid and literacy to residents in the slum areas of Delhi.
The ceremony was organized to recognize and commend the hard work and dedication of the volunteers who contributed selflessly to the project. Ms. Parmeshwari Dhayal, as Managing Director, Mr. Dinesh Chand Meena, as Executive Director, and Mr. Rishabh Singh, Project Coordinator, along with the entire team, played pivotal roles in the success of Project Saksham 2.0.
The Best Awardees were acknowledged by Justice Dipak Misra, who awarded a total of 13 awards to outstanding team members and recognized the overall best team:

Mr. Deepak Sharma, ASP Jailer CJ 3 Tihar Jail, appreciated Team Saksham for their initiative and discussed the essential role of legal aid and awareness in the relationship between prisoners and law students.
Justice Dipak Misra expressed gratitude towards the host faculty of Law, DU, and other participating colleges of Project Saksham. He emphasized the exceptional nature of Project Saksham and its role in fulfilling the constitutional right to legal aid. He praised the initiative as an outstanding effort to serve marginalized communities, placing great emphasis on the right to access justice and the crucial role of empathy in connecting with people.
The event also hosted distinguished guests of honor, including Mrs. Sanjula Thanvi Dean Law, Rajasthan University, Pro(Dr.) Manpreet Grewal Deans from Chitkara University and Dr. Kanupriya Dean law Manav Rachna University, alongside numerous professors and students from the field of law.
