Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU), in partnership with the National Commission for Women (NCW), will host a One-Day Regional Consultation on 'Cyber Laws and Women: A Critical Analysis' at its Raipur campus on November 16, 2024. The event will focus on examining the critical challenges and opportunities at the intersection of cyber laws and women's rights.
Shri S.R.P. Kalluri, IPS, Additional Director General of Police, Chhattisgarh, will serve as the Chief Guest, while Ms. Monika Yadav, Deputy Secretary, National Commission for Women, Delhi, will be the Guest of Honor during the inaugural session.
The consultation will convene a panel of 25 experts from Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, including IPS officers, judicial officers, law professors, senior advocates, NGO representatives, and ethical hackers, all specializing in cyber law and safety. The event will also see the participation of around 50 attendees, comprising law students, faculty members, and professionals, who will engage in comprehensive discussions on cyber-related challenges faced by women in today's digital landscape.
The primary objective of this consultation is to explore the intersection of gender and cyber laws, evaluate the current legal framework, and identify gaps that hinder the safety and empowerment of women online. The insights and recommendations from these discussions will be compiled into a report and submitted to the Ministry and other relevant authorities, contributing to the ongoing efforts to strengthen cyber laws and policies for the protection of women.
