    The Rajiv Gandhi School of Intellectual Property Law (RGSOIPL) at IIT Kharagpur, in collaboration with the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), is organizing the RGSOIPL-NHRC National Moot Court Competition, 2025. This premier event will take place from January 7 to January 9, 2025, at the IIT Kharagpur campus. Focused on the intersection of Human Rights, Constitutional Law, and Technology, this moot court competition is designed to provide a platform for law students to explore pressing issues through rigorous research and advocacy.

    Competition Theme

    The moot proposition will delve into the complex relationship between Human Rights, Constitutional Law, and Technology. Participants will navigate both domestic and international legal frameworks, emphasizing contemporary challenges surrounding digital privacy, data protection, and federal versus state powers.

    Participation and Registration Details

    • Eligibility: Open to students enrolled in 3-year or 5-year LL.B. programs recognized by the Bar Council of India.
    • Team Composition: Each team can have 2-3 members, including two speakers and an optional researcher. Only one team per institution may participate.
    • Registration Fee: INR 5310 (inclusive of GST, non-refundable).

    Memorial Submission Guidelines

    Teams must prepare separate memorials for the Appellant and Respondent sides, adhering to strict formatting rules:
    • Citation Style: Bluebook 21st Edition
    • Cover Page: Appellant – Blue; Respondent – Red
    • Contents: Case Title, Jurisdiction, Facts, Issues, Arguments, and Prayer

    Memorials with any identifying marks, other than the team code, will face disqualification.
