    NALSAR University of Law was established under the Andhra Pradesh Act 34 of 1998 as a fully residential National Law University, offering an integrated five-year law course. Indisputably, NALSAR counts as one of the best law schools in the country. NALSAR has fast emerged as the pacesetter in legal education. NALSAR University of Law was awarded an 'A++' grade with a CGPA of 3.60 out of 4.00 by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

    In continuation of its legacy, NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, is honoured to announce the 17th edition of its annual Constitutional Law Moot, the NALSAR-Justice Bodh Raj Sawhny Memorial Moot Court Competition, 2024, which will be held in collaboration with the Justice Bodh Raj Sawhny Memorial Trust and in association with Vidhi Centre for Policy Research.

    The moot is scheduled to take place from 4th October 2024 to 6th October 2024 in an offline format at NALSAR Hyderabad's campus.

    This competition has earned its reputation as India's premier Constitutional law moot over several years. Esteemed judges such as Justice (Retd.) B.N. Srikrishna, Justice (Retd.) B.P. Rao, Justice (Retd.) Akil Qureshi, and Adv. Gautam Bhatia, among others, have graced previous editions. The competition attracts the brightest legal minds from law schools across the country, with over 100 teams participating in the last edition.

    For this edition, in honor and legacy of the great Nani A. Palkhivala, his nephew, Mr. Homi P. Ranani, has contributed to the prize pool and established the Nani Palkhivala Award for Best Speakers.

    This edition's moot proposition has been drafted by Alok Prasanna Kumar and Ritwika Sharma of the Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy, which revolves around the issue of the Delimitation of constituencies. The Moot Proposition can be accessed here: LINK

    Eligibility

    • The Competition is open to students currently enrolled in LL.B. Degree Courses (3 year/5 year) or LLM Postgraduate Degree Courses.
    • A team is not permitted to have members from more than one institution.
    • No more than one team may represent an institution.

    Teams of 2 (speakers) or 3 (2 speakers and 1 researcher) are welcome to register. Kindly fill out this Registration Form to register for this Competition: LINK

    All the teams shall be required to pay INR 7,500 via online bank transfer before the deadline to register for Stage 1, i.e. Memorial Evaluation Rounds.
