    NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad is organizing the 1st edition of KSK-NALSAR International Commercial Law Moot Court Competition, 2025, which will be held in collaboration with King Stubb & Kasiva (KSK). The moot is scheduled to take place from 7th March 2025 to 9th March 2025 in an offline format at the university campus.

    This competition provides immense learning opportunities in the realm of international commercial arbitration. This edition's moot proposition immerses participants in complex questions of law including a challenge to an arbitral tribunal after joinder of a non-signatory, disclosure of third-party funding and available contractual defences in quasi back-to-back transactions.

    With monetary prizes and internship opportunities, the moot ensures a comprehensive and enriching experience for all participants.

    Eligibility

    • The Competition is open to students currently enrolled in LL.B. Degree Courses (3 year/5 year) or LLM Postgraduate Degree Courses.
    • A recognized institution shall be entitled to send multiple teams to the competition.
    • Open or Mixed and Cross-Institutional Teams can participate.

    Team Composition

    Team of two (speakers) or three (two speakers and one researcher) are welcome to register. Kindly fill out this registration form to register for this Competition: Link

    STRUCTURE OF THE COMPETITION

    The Competition shall comprise of three stages.

    i. Stage I: Memorial Elimination Round - This shall be open to all teams which register for the competition. The results of this round shall be based on the evaluation of memorials and shall determine the 32 teams which will proceed to Stage II.

    ii. Stage II: Client Counselling Elimination Round - The teams that qualify Stage I shall be eligible to participate in the Client Counselling Round, which shall be held virtually. 24 teams from this stage shall qualify for the oral rounds which shall take place in an offline format.

    iii. Stage III: Oral Rounds - The teams that qualify Stage II shall be eligible to participate in the Oral Rounds, which shall comprise of Preliminary Rounds and Advanced Rounds viz. Quarter Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals.

    Prize Pool

    1. Winning Team Award: The winning team will receive a trophy and cash prize of INR 40,000.
    2. Runners-Up Team Award: The runner-up team will receive a trophy and cash prize of INR 25,000.
    3. Best Speaker Award: The best speaker will receive a trophy and cash prize of INR 15,000.
    4. Runners-Up Best Speaker Award: The second-best speaker will receive a trophy and cash prize of INR 10,000.
    5. Best Memorial (Claimant) Award: The team with the best memorial of the Claimant side will receive a trophy and a cash prize of INR 10,000.
    6. Best Memorial (Respondent) Award: The team with the best memorial of the Respondent side will receive a trophy and a cash prize of INR 10,000.
    7. Best Researcher Award: The best researcher will get a trophy and a cash prize of INR 10,000.
    8. All the participating teams will be provided with a certificate of participation or a certificate of merit, in accordance with the performance of the team.
