HNLU Organises A One-Day Workshop On ‘Capacity Building & Personality Development’ In Collaboration With NCW

Hidayatullah National Law University, Raipur, in collaboration with National Commission for Women, organised a one-day Workshop on Capacity Building and Personality Development on 4th of August, 2023. The event was attended by over 250 students from colleges across Chhattisgarh such as Govt. PG College Rajim, Govt. Naveen Girls’ College Rajim, Seth Phoolchand Memorial College, Govt. PG College Abhanpur, Netaji Subhash College Abhanpur, Govt. College Rakhi, ITM University Raipur.
The inaugural event had the opening remarks by Prof. (Dr.) V.C. Vivekanandan, Vice Chancellor, HNLU, Raipur touching upon the mission for equal opportunities for women for which these programmes are done with the aid of NCW. His speech was replete with metaphors and anecdotes defining the importance of capacity building and personality development as well as the contemporary relevance of imbibing soft skills in order to make oneself efficient and of value in the professional world.
The Welcome Address was delivered by Prof. (Dr.) Yogendra Kumar Srivastava, Professor, Dean (PG) and CoE followed by a Concept Note for the Workshop presented by Dr. Parvesh Rajput, Organising Secretary of the event.
Dr.Vipan Kumar, Registrar-in-Charge and Associate Professor delivered a Brief Introduction on the meaning and significance of soft skills both as professionals and individuals. The inauguration concluded with The Vote of thanks given by Mr. Jeevan Sagar, Convenor of the Workshop expressing gratitude towards everyone involved in the organisation and smooth conduction of the event.
The Workshop was divided into three comprehensive modules. The first module was curated around the importance of building personal capacity which was taken up by Dr. Ravishankar Panicker, Assistant Professor, Bhilai Institute of Technology, Raipur. He delivered a power-packed session with various communication tips and time management skills. It was followed by a comprehensive session on Stress Management by Ms. Apurva Sharma, Assistant Professor, HNLU. The Second Module was aimed at helping the participants unlock the leaders within themselves, and Mr. Jeevan Sagar, Assistant Professor, HNLU guided them through various facets of charismatic leadership. Mr. Pradeep Barman, Assistant Professor, HNLU concluded the second module with an interactive session on career development. The Third Module was crafted around digital literacy and the effective use of social media. Dr. Atul S Jaybhaye, Assistant Professor delivered an awareness session on the various cyber-crimes and scams that users may fall prey to on social media, and shared effective methods for curbing such attacks. Mr. V Suryanarayana Raju, Assistant Professor delivered the final lecture for the workshop on the safe use of various social media platforms and content-sharing strategies.
