    The Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, is set to hold its prestigious 2nd Convocation Ceremony on 30th March 2025 at the Himachal Pradesh Judicial Academy, Shimla. This event will witness 451 candidates being awarded degrees of the B.A.LL.B. (114 candidates) and B.B.A.LL.B.(111 candidates) integrated programme, LL.M.(211 candidates), and 15 doctoral candidates who will be conferred their Ph.D. degrees, out of which 327 would be conferred their degrees in person. Degree of Doctor of Laws, Honoris Causa would be conferred upon Justice Sanjay Karol, Judge Supreme Court of India and Justice Rajeev Shakdhar, Former Chief Justice of H.P. High Court, who have also remained as the Chancellors of the University.

    A total of approximately 900 attendees are expected at the ceremony, which will include graduating students, faculty, and invited guests, to celebrate this milestone in the academic lives of the graduating scholars. The event will also be attended by several distinguished guests, including esteemed judicial and academic dignitaries.

    The Convocation Ceremony will be graced by the esteemed presence of four sitting judges of the Supreme Court of India, Justice Surya Kant, as the Chief Guest, Justice M.M. Sundresh, Visitor, HPNLU, Justice R. Mahadevan, Visitor's Nominee, HPNLU,Justice, Sanjay Karol. The Chief Minister of H.P. Shri Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu will also attend the event as special guest.

    Along with these eminent Supreme Court judges, the degrees would be conferred by the Justice Gurmeet Singh Sandhawalia, Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh and Chancellor, HPNLU. The Judges of the Himachal Pradesh High Court will also join the event. Several other notable dignitaries, including senior legal luminaries and representatives from various academic institutions, will also be present to honour the accomplishments of the graduates.

    The Convocation will witness the conferring of degrees and awards to the candidates, recognizing their dedication, hard work, and academic excellence. In addition to the degree conferral, medals will be presented to top-performing students in various academic categories, celebrating their outstanding contributions to legal education.

    · Gold Medals: The Founder Vice-Chancellor's Gold Medal for the overall topper in the PG Programme will be awarded to Mr. Surya Dev Singh Bhandari for 2021, Ms. Tissy Annie Thomas for 2022, and Ms. Nivedita Sharma for 2023.

    Ms. Sheenam Thakur, an undergraduate student from the 2018 batch, will receive multiple accolades, including the K.K. Luthra Memorial Gold Medal in Criminal Law for being the subject topper, the Sh. Tarsem Kumar Gold Medal as the overall female topper, the Sri Shyam Sunder Goel Memorial Gold Medal for being the overall undergraduate topper, the Founder Chancellor's Gold Medal for being the top Himachal Pradesh domicile student, the Founder Vice-Chancellor's Gold Medal for overall topper, and the Founder Chancellor's Fellowship Prize for being the top law student from Himachal Pradesh.

    Ms. Aditi Sharma will be awarded the Justice Dharam Paul Sood Gold Medal for exemplary performance in Constitutional Law for 2018.

    Ms. Lipi Aryan will receive the K.K. Luthra Memorial Gold Medal in Criminal Law for 2019.

    Ms. Ankita Sharma will be honoured with the Sh. Tarsem Kumar Gold Medal, the Sri Shyam Sunder Goel Memorial Gold Medal, and the Founder Vice-Chancellor's Gold Medal for 2019.

    Ms. Hiaa Sharma will be awarded the Founder Chancellor's Gold Medal and the Founder Chancellor's Fellowship Prize among students of Himachal Pradesh domicile for 2019

    Mr. Sanchit Sharma will receive the Justice Dharam Paul Sood Gold Medal for his exemplary academic performance in Constitutional Law for 2019.
