    MNLU Mumbai - The Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai, established under Maharashtra Act VI of 2014, is one of the premier National Law Universities in India. In the recent years, the university has established various Centres for advancing research in practical orientation of law.

    The Centre for Advocacy, Research and Training in Sports Law housed at MNLU Mumbai provides a platform to students and young professionals for exploring various aspects of sports-related laws (including the legal aspects of the business of sports). The increasing interaction between sports and law has created a new societal need for a greater understanding of how law operates in the sporting world.

    This essay writing competition invites law students to delve into various facets of sports law, exploring its theoretical underpinnings, practical applications and contemporary challenges. With amazing cash prizes (Rs. 10,000, Rs. 7,500 and Rs. 5000 each) and publication opportunity, the competition promises to be an enriching experience for all its participants.

    Eligibility

    Students pursing under-graduation or post-graduation from any college or university recognised by the UGC are eligible.

    Registration Fees

    Single Author Fee – 500 INR

    Co-Author Fee – 1000 INR

    • 1st – 10,000
    • 2nd – 7500
    • 3rd – 5000

    Certificate of Merit will be awarded to Top 10 essays. Winning entries will also be published.

    Submission Guidelines

    • Word limit - 3000 - 5000 words (excluding footnotes)
    • Citation standard - OSCOLA 4th edition
    • Co- authorship up to 2 authors is allowed.
    • The decision of the selection committee shall be final.
    • All submissions must be made in MS-Word/ docx. format.
    • All submissions should be emailed to cartsl@mnlumumbai.edu.in with the subject as “Essay Competition Submission”.
    • All submissions should be sent from the Email ID used to register for the competition.
