National Law Institute University Bhopal, ranks among the oldest and most esteemed National Law Universities in India. The university serves as the alma mater for numerous esteemed journals that accept submissions from students, professionals, regulators, and academicians throughout the legal field, fostering a culture of academic research and facilitating multi-directional discourse.
NLIU – Journal for Research in Competition Law and Policy (JRCLP)
JRCLP is an annual journal that is double-blind and peer reviewed. The second edition of JRCLP is now being released, following the success of its inaugural edition, which sparked a significant amount of discussion on critical issues and emerging trends in Competition Law from both national and international perspectives. This volume continues to serve as a forum for knowledge sharing, research encouragement, and meaningful discussion of current competition law issues.
Submission Guidelines
Submissions are invited in the following categories:
Long Articles – 4,000 to 8,000 words*
o The article should provide a comprehensive and in-depth analysis of a contemporary issue in competition law, incorporating a broad range of sources. Contributions should include recommendations and critical insights.
Short Articles – 2,000 to 4,000 words*
o This article should offer an analysis of a contemporary issue in competition law, referencing diverse sources and presenting alternatives and suggestions.
Case Comments – 1,500 to 4,000 words*
o This comment should analyze a recent judgment or decision of CCI relevant to the development of competition law. It should explore the views in the judgment, highlight its significance, and offer the author's opinion.
Book Reviews – 1,000 to 3,000 words*
o The review must provide a concise overview of a recently published book on competition law, including the issues discussed and the arguments put forth by the author.
The word limits are exclusive of footnotes and the abstract. The prescribed word limit may be relaxed, at the discretion of the Editorial Board.
Abstract
o All submissions must be accompanied by an abstract not exceeding 300 words, which is exclusive of the word limit and should be included within the manuscript document.
o The abstract must:
- Clearly state the novelty and relevance of the idea.
- Identify the specific contribution of the submission beyond existing literature.
- Conclude with five keywords.
Formatting
- File Format: Submissions must be in MS Word (.doc or .docx).
- Font: Times New Roman, with body text size 12, line spacing 1.5; footnotes should be size 10 with single line spacing.
- Citation: Only footnotes (not endnotes) should be used, adhering to the Oxford Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA, 4th Edition). Non-compliance with this style may lead to disqualification.
Plagiarism and Originality
- Submissions must be original and unpublished, and they should not be under consideration elsewhere.
- Any submission found to be plagiarized or otherwise contravening this rule will be summarily rejected.
Anonymity
- The manuscript must not contain any identifiable information about the author(s), including name(s), institution, address, or any other details indicating their identity.
Co-authorship
- Co-authorship is permitted for up to two authors for Articles.
- Co-authorship is not allowed for Case Comments and Book Reviews.
Copyright and Responsibility
- Submissions are accepted for publication on the condition that they do not infringe upon any third-party rights. Authors bear sole responsibility for any such violations.
Exclusivity
- Submissions should be exclusive to the journal, meaning they should be unpublished and not under simultaneous consideration elsewhere.
Editorial Discretion
- The editorial board reserves the right to suggest edits, including adding or removing content, at their discretion. Authors are expected to incorporate these changes within a specified timeframe.
Last Date for Submission
- The deadline for submission is 30th November 2024, by 11:59 PM IST.
