    The National Academy of Legal Studies and Research (NALSAR) was established in 1998. Since its inception, the university has been home to vital conversations on law and justice and used law as an instrument of social change. The university has anchored and supported justice education, land rights, disability empowerment, the administration of criminal justice, child and youth justice, and international law. NALSAR is committed to the creation of an ethical legal culture that protects and promotes the rule of law. The university believes that the cause of building a rule-of-law society is a continuous enterprise that is sustainable. With students admitted from all over the country and faculty drawn from home and abroad, NALSAR is counted among the top law schools in the country.

    The Centre for Child and Youth Justice (CCYJ) was established by NALSAR University of Law as a specialised centre dedicated to advancing the rights and welfare of children & youth through research, advocacy, and education. The mission of the Centre is to serve the children through law. The Centre collaborates with government bodies, international organisations, civil societies and stakeholders working in the field of child rights to shape policies and laws that protect and empower children and young individuals. The Centre will serve as a hub for interdisciplinary research, legal education, advocacy, stakeholder engagement, capacity-building and providing policy recommendations in line with national and international standards in the areas of child and young people's rights. At present, CCYJ is running a project on “Access to Justice for Children through systems strengthening on child protection issues” funded by CRY- Child Rights and You.

    The Monograph on International Parental Child Abduction

    The Centre for Child and Youth Justice (CCYJ), NALSAR University of Law invites entries for book chapters for a monograph on “International Parental Child Abduction”. Parental abduction, particularly across international borders, is a pressing issue that affects the lives of children, families and legal systems worldwide. The monograph aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of this complex phenomenon, looking at it through various perspectives. It aims to critically analyze the multi-faceted legal, social, and psychological dimensions of international parental child abduction. It seeks to explore current legislative frameworks, policy gaps, judicial approaches and emerging trends globally, with a special focus on the Indian perspective.

    Eligibility

    Academicians, legal practitioners, bureaucrats, policymakers, students and research scholars, NGOs and stakeholders with work expertise, interest in child rights and family laws are encouraged to contribute.

    Submission Guidelines

    • Originality: Chapters must be unpublished and not under consideration elsewhere.
    • Co-authorship: Up to two authors allowed.
    • Language: English
    • Word Limit: 5000-6000 words (excluding abstract and footnotes)
    • Formatting:

    1. Font: Times New Roman, 12-point, double-spaced

    2. Margin: 1 inch on all sides

    3. Referencing Style: Bluebook 21st Edition

    1. Full Chapter along with abstract

    2. Signed Declaration of Originality

    3. CV of Author(s)

    Fee

    There is No Submission/ Publication Fee.

    Selection Process

    Submissions will undergo a rigorous two-stage blind review process. Based on the editorial board's recommendations, the chapter will be accepted and sent back to the authors to be revised. In case of non-acceptance, no separate information will be given.

    Open Access Publication

    The monograph will be fully open access, ensuring free and universal availability for reading, downloading and sharing on the official website of Centre of Child & Youth Justice, NALSAR University of Law.
