      The session commenced with the Claimants briefing the bench with the problem. After getting through the problem, the counsel inquired for the remedies that the client seeks and the judges didn’t seem to be satisfied with the arguments of the counsel. The atmosphere of the room was tense.

      On his search for a particular authority, Mr. Deep presented the question both to the Respondents and the Petitioners and left them floundering for the answer. The mood in the room has changed from collected to charged as the participants attempt to cater to the judges’ needs.

      Ms. Jomol Joy questioned the respondent about their acceptance of the contract. She asked them if there was any coercion or if they had raised any objections regarding the disputed clause. The judges are continuing to grill the respondent over their argument about the arbitration clause in the contract.

      The claimants were reprimanded by the judges for not filing copies of the authorities that they cited.

      Judges are questioning the counsel for the source of the arguments made and display reluctance to admit the same in absence of reliable precedents.

      First counsel for the Claimants concluded his submissions, with an extension of 2 minutes. With this the Second Counsel for Claimant takes over the reins.

      The judges asked very pertinent questions with respect to the basics of arbitration and arbitration clauses. While the participants seemed nervous, they successfully managed to answer the queries of the judges. The judges led a constant stream of questions on several aspects of the arguments put forth by both teams. However, in the absence of easily available sources with the teams, were not easily satisfied. The speakers found is difficult to fit their responses within the allotted time.

      The claimant commenced the round with laying emphasis on important facts. Further he explained the issues and various problems that have been faced by them. Some questions related to the interpretation of statutory sections were asked by the judges to which the counsel drew a blank.

      The Respondent began with a reply to all of the Claimant's arguments and with their cogent reasons backed by authorities, the Respondent was able to impress the judges.

      11:15- Mr. Jasraj asks for examples in support of the submissions given by the Counsel for the Respondent. The speaker requests the panel to refer to a case mentioned in their written submissions, as he proceeded to explain the case in detail.

      11:20- The Counsels have put up an incredible display of mooting skills. The speaker is well-versed with the applicable legal knowledge and is confidently answering all the queries of the judges.

      11:32- Both the teams have submitted their rebuttals and surrebuttals. The teams have been asked to move out of the court room as the judges proceed to evaluate the scores of the teams.

      11:00 The first counsel for the Respondent has begun with his submissions. The judges listen carefully to the arguments provided by the speaker and continue questioning the speaker on the applicable law.

      11:05 - A question is raised by Mr Rishabh Chawla. The Speaker clarifies the doubt by explaining his arguments along with citing a case to support his submission. Ms. Shivani Vij has asked the speaker for an indian judgment to support his arguments, which the speaker dutifully provided. He proceeds with explaining the case with absolute conviction.
