    PART III – Action Research & Resource Centre invites applications for the post of Litigation Officer to represent survivors of gender-based violence and other forms of identity-based violence across all the district courts in Delhi and Delhi High Court and to provide legal advice to survivors/victims and organizations supporting them. It is a full-time position based in Chittaranjan Park, New Delhi.

    Name of the Post: Litigation Officer

    Remuneration: The salary will be commensurate with the work experience and relevant qualifications of the Candidate (within an approximate bracket of Rs. 3,50,000 – 5,50,000 per annum)

    Essential Qualification and Experience

    • Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Law (B.A.LLB.) with a minimum of 1 to 3 years experience in criminal/civil litigation;

    • Sound knowledge of Indian criminal law, family law, and other important statutes relevant to the field of human rights;

    • Experience in legal drafting, court hearings, arguments, and client-counsel meetings;

    • Familiarity with and ability to use Indian legal research databases such as SCC and Manupatra;

    • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills in English;

    • Good organizational skills and willingness to do detail-oriented work;

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Prepare for and attend court hearings before the Delhi High Court and lower courts and tribunals; Maintain and update case files;

    • Draft complaints, applications, petitions, and other legal documents; Undertake legal research work pertaining to court cases;

    • Brief the organization’s legal team and senior advocates appearing on behalf of the organization;

    • Coordinate with co-counsels associated with the organization; Coordinate and communicate with clients/survivors and partner organizations;

    • Provide legal assistance and advice to the survivors/clients and grassroots partner organizations;

    • Assist the organization in developing legal training modules and imparting legal training to the community and community-based organizations;

    • File RTI applications and complaints in public offices and human rights bodies such as National Human Rights Commission, National Commission for Women, National Commission for Scheduled Castes, National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, etc.;

    • Assistance in office programs and activities including attending/conducting meetings, training, and workshops on gender-based violence and other identity-based violence; preparing field reports, review reports, periodic reports, and other necessary documents that the organization might require;

    • Conducting field visits within and outside Delhi for meetings, training etc. if required.
