Institute of law, Nirma University wins the 31st All India Inter-University Moot Court Competition

  • Institute of law, Nirma University wins the 31st All India Inter-University Moot Court Competition

    Fairfield School of law in collaboration with Bar council of India Trust recently organized the 31st All India Inter-University Moot Court Competition at the campus of the institution from 5th Feb to 7th Feb, 2016 in which Institute of law, Nirma University bagged the competition and Chanakya National Law University, Bihar finished up as Runners up. The awards for best advocate (Female) went to MS. Tanya thakurf rom Chanakya National law University, Bihar and best advocate (Male) went to Bharat Singh, from Nirma university.

    45 institutes participated from all over India in the competition. In the competition students prepared four problems sent by the trust and argue in different rounds of competitions before they were selected for the final round. Students from various law colleges participated enthusiastically in order to win the coveted prize of the being the best team. The winner teams and runner ups were awarded with Merit certificates and prizes. Scholarship of Rs 1000/- per month for a period of one year was provided to students who are adjudged best in each round of the competition.

    The valedictory function was grace by the presence of legal luminaries such as Hon’ble Justice SH. A.K.Sikri, Judge, Supreme Court of India, Sh. Manan Kumar Mishra  , Senior Advocate, Hon’ble Chairman, BCI, Hon’ble Judge Dr. Kamini Lau ADJ. Delhi, Sh. Vijay Bhatt, Managing Trustee, Bar Council of India Trust ,Sh.Rajendra Singh Rana,Hon’ble Associate Managing Trustee,BCI Trust & Convener,AIIUMCC-2015, Prof. (Dr.) B.T. Kaul, Sh. Rajiv Kale, Prof.(Dr.) Afzal Wani & Justice Mr. Siddharth Mridul (Judge High Court of India), Sh. P C Shrma (Former CBI Director & Dy Chief Interpol), Sh. Suresh Chandra (Joint Secretary & Legal Advisor, Govt. of India).

    Expressing his joy on the occasion Mr Vijay Kumar Nangalia Bhardwaj, Chairman FIMT, said that,”I am very glad to have such kind of event in our campus. This is one of the prestigious event for any law college and I am very thankful to Mr CS Kandpal, Sec Incharge of the Bar Council of India Trust for giving us this opportunity. This kind of event gives lots of confidence and encouragement to the law students.”
