Justice Harpreet Singh Brar Appointed As Permanent Judge Of Punjab & Haryana High Court

The President today appointed Justice Harpreet Singh Brar as a permanent judge of the Punjab & Haryana High Court. Justice Brar sworn in as an Additional Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court on April 10, 2023. Hailing from the village of Phulewala in District Sri Muktsar Sahib, Justice Brar served as Additional Advocate General of Punjab from 2009 to 2014. He also served as Panel Counsel for various state agencies, including the Punjab Urban Planning & Development Authority, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority, Punjab Pollution Control Board, and Punjab State Civil Supplies Corporation, among others.

Justice Brar has been an active member of the bar and was elected President of the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association for two consecutive terms, 2015-2016 and 2016-2017. He was also designated as a Senior Advocate in May 2021.

The judge completed Bachelor of Arts degree from Panjab University in the year 1995 and obtained Bachelor of Laws degree in the year 1999, from the Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh.
