    The Central government has notified the appointment of Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva as the Acting Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

    This comes after appointment of Justice Sheel Nagu, who serving as the Acting CJ, as a Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court.

    The MP High Court has been functioning without a Chief Justice since May 25, 2024, subsequent to retirement of Justice Ravi Malimath.

    Justice Sachdeva enrolled as an Advocate with the Bar Council of Delhi in 1988. He qualified as an Advocate on Record of the Supreme Court in June 1995 and was designated as a Senior Advocate by the Delhi High Court in July 2011. He was elevated as an additional Judge of the Delhi High Court on 17th April 2013 and appointed as a Permanent Judge on 18th March 2015.

    On March 03, Justice Sachdeva had expressed willingness to be transferred to any High Court. He was transferred to MP High Court on May 31, 2024.
