    The Jabalpur bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court recently disposed of a plea filed by a guest faculty, alleging that he was being forced to join Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) by the college authorities.

    Justice Vivek Agarwal closed the matter after the State submitted that concerned Superintendent of Police will look into the complaint.

    The bench in its order observed, “Government Advocate for the State submits that he will direct to Superintendent of Police, Sidhi to look into the complaints, get them examine, and if there is any real thread perception, then will direct the Superintendent of Police to mitigate the same within seven days from the date of receipt of certified copy of the order being passed today. In view of the aforesaid undertakes furnished by Shri V.S. Choudhary, learned Government Advocate for the State, this petition is disposed of, without commenting anything on merits of the claim of the petitioner.”

    As per the factual matrix of the case, the petitioner is a Guest Faculty (Commerce) at Government Arts and Commerce College, Majhauli, District Sidhi (M.P.). It has been alleged that "he was being prescribed" by the College Authorities to join activities of RSS.

    The counsel for petitioner submitted that the ideology of RSS is not in sync with the ideology of the present petitioner and when he refused to comply, he was "beaten and threatened". The petitioner had already made complaints before the Superintendent of Police, Sidhi and also the concerned Town Inspector, but no action has been taken on these complaints.

    In view of the submission by the State's counsel the Court disposed of the petition without commenting upon the merits of the case.
