The Supreme Court Collegium today proposed to transfer Justice Dinesh Kumar Singh, a Judge of the Allahabad High Court, to the Kerala High Court for better administration of justice.
The Collegium's resolution states that though his transfer was proposed on July 5, however Justice DK Singh, vide representation dated 11 July 2023 requested for transfer to nearby States such as Delhi, Punjab & Haryana, Madhya Pradesh or Rajasthan.
However, having carefully gone through the request made by Justice Singh, the Collegium did not find any merit in the request made by him and therefore, it resolved to reiterate its recommendation dated 05 July 2023 to transfer him to the High Court of Kerala.
For the said purpose, the opinions of the Chief Justices of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad and the High Court of Kerala were sought in terms of the Memorandum of Procedure, and they conveyed their consent / no objection to the proposed transfer.
In terms of the Memorandum of Procedure, the Collegium also consulted one of the Judges of the Supreme Court who being conversant with the affairs of the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad was in a position to offer views on the proposed transfer.
Graduated in Law from LL.B. (Allahabad University), LL.M., (Delhi University), in the year 1992, Justice Singh enrolled as an Advocate in the year 1993.
