Malayali Actor Siddique has moved the Kerala High Court seeking anticipatory bail as an FIR has been registered against him for rape and criminal intimidation.

The complainant had said that the actor called her to Muscot Hotel in Trivandrum on the pretext of discussing a film and he raped and assaulted her there. The complainant gave her complaint to the Special Investigation Team constituted to investigate the incidents of sexual harassment in the Malayalam film industry.

An FIR has been registered in the Museum Police Station, Trivandrum.

The actor has mentioned in the petition that the same lady has made allegations that he tried to sexually misbehave with her and made sexual remarks back in 2019.

The petitioner stated that the complainant had changed her statements as she realized those allegations only constituted a bailable offence. He said that the complainant was indulging in a 'prolonged campaign of harassment and false accusations' and wanted to make a case warranting arrest.

They have also said that the allegations are vague especially because the complainant cannot recall the date on which this incident occurred.

He also submitted that the complainant is trying to create an image of a 'vulnerable, middle class, single daughter who lacked the courage to report the incident earlier' and who continues to suffer from the trauma of this incident.

The petitioner submitted that this image would not stand once her Facebook profile is examined which shows that she engages in 'vitriolic and profane rhetoric.'

The plea was moved by Advocates Philip T. Varghese, Adv. Sujesh Menon V. B, Thomas T Varghese, Achu Subha Abraham, V T Litha, K R Monisha, Nitya R. Senior Counsel Adv B. Raman Pillai is engaged for appearance.
