    The Kerala High Court today granted interim anticipatory bail to film director Omar Lulu in an alleged rape case.

    Nedumbassery Police has lodged FIR under Section 376 of the IPC based on the complaint of the defacto complainant.

    Justice A. Badharudeen ordered that, “Since the submission of the learned Counsel for the petitioner is a matter to be considered in the facts of the case, there is an order granting interim bail to the petitioner, with direction to the Investigating Officer to release him on interim bail, in case of his arrest.”

    Omar Lulu had denied the allegations of sexual assault and argued that he was in a consensual relationship with the defacto complainant.

    The interim anticipatory bail was given on condition of executing bail bond for fifty thousand rupees with two solvent sureties. The Court has also stated that Omar Lulu shall not leave the State during the interim bail without permission of the Court.
