Centre Notifies Appointment Of Five Additional Judges To Kerala High Court

The following are the names:

1. Shri Paramesara Panicker Krishna Kumar

2. Shri Kodassery Veliyath Madom Jayakumar

3. Shri Muralee Krishna Shankaramoole

4. Shri Jobin Sebastian

5. Shri Pandikkaran Varadaraja Iyer Balakrishnan

The Kerala High Court collegium had recommended their elevation in May 2024 and the same was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium in October 2024.

The Collegium had also noted that it had recommended the name of Shri P Krishna Kumar for elevation as Judge of the High Court of Kerala in October 2023. All the other four judicial officers whose names were recommended earlier (Justice M B Snehalatha, Justice Johnson John, Justice G Girish, Justice C Pratheekkumar) have been appointed as judges of the Kerala High Court. The Collegium thus in October 2024 recommended the name of Shri P Krishna Kumar again. The collegium had also said that the seniority of the newly appointed judges would be below Shri P Krishna Kumar.
