Justice Tashi Rabstan Sworn In As 37th Chief Justice Of J&K And Ladakh High Court

Justice Tashi Rabstan took the oath as the 37th Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh in a ceremony held at the Convention Centre in Jammu. Justice Tashi Rabstan took the oath as the 37th Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh in a ceremony held at the Convention Centre in Jammu. The oath was administered by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha of J&K.
The ceremony was attended by Justices Atul Sreedharan, Sanjeev Kumar, Sindhu Sharma, Rajnesh Oswal, Vinod Chatterji Koul, Sanjay Dhar, Puneet Gupta, Javed Iqbal Wani, Mohammad Akram Chowdhary, Rahul Bharti, Moksha Khajuria Kazmi, Wasim Sadiq Nargal, and Rajesh Sekhri.
Lt. Governor of Ladakh, Brigadier (Dr.) B.D. Mishra (Retd.), and other dignitaries like CEC Leh Tashi Gyalson and CEC Kargil Dr. Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon were also present. Senior advocates, government lawyers, and members of Bar Associations from Jammu, Leh, and Kargil attended the event.
Justice Rabstan, born in a farming family in Skurbuchan, Leh, on April 10, 1963, graduated in law from the University of Jammu. He began his legal career in 1990, specializing in constitutional, civil, and criminal cases. Over the years, he served as Standing Counsel for the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council and as Additional Central Government Standing Counsel for Jammu.
In 2013, Justice Rabstan was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court, and in 2014, he became a permanent judge. He also served twice as the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
The ceremony was also attended by top officials from the J&K administration, police, and judiciary, along with Justice Rabstan's family, including his spouse and mother.
