J&K&L High Court Chief Justice Leads 'Tiranga Rally' In Srinagar To Celebrate 75 Years Of Independence

Flagging off the event from the Srinagar Wing of the High Court, Chief Justice N Kotiswar Singh lead the procession himself with the rally concluding at the historic "Ghanta Ghar" at Lal Chowk.

“In a glorious display of national pride and unity in diversity and to commemorate India’s remarkable journey of 75 years of Independence, the J&K Legal Services Authority (JKLSA) in association with District Legal Services Authority, Srinagar, organised a monumental ‘Tiranga Rally’ to pay homage to those who struggled and sacrificed their lives for the future generations”, reads a press note issued to this effect by the department of information J&K.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the rally, the Chief Justice said that the response of people here shows Kashmir is back to normalcy and the place deserves the best.

“We have seen that tourist footfall has increased and has been highest since decades, which shows that people want to come and see this place…I feel that peace is prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir, and with this kind of activity going on here is an indication of a much better future for this place.”, the Chief Justice said.

When questioned about the changes in Jammu and Kashmir, the Chief Justice expressed a positive outlook, noting significant improvements. He highlighted the notable increase in tourist influx, indicating that people are now more willing to visit the region without hesitation. Additionally, he underscored the enhanced participation of the local population in various events.

Addressing concerns about the past practice of unfurling Pakistani flags, the Chief Justice acknowledged that such incidents are now part of history. He expressed optimism that the situation has improved and expressed hope that the trajectory of progress will continue for the better.

“I feel that peace is prevailing in Jammu and Kashmir, and with this kind of activity going on here is an indication of a much better future for this place.”, the Chief Justice remarked.
