    The Gujarat High Court on Thursday (January 30) granted regular bail to three persons accused in the TRP Game Zone Fire incident wherein twenty-seven individuals, including four children, perished in the massive fire that engulfed the game zone in Rajkot's Nana-Mava locality on May 25, 2024. 

    Justice MR Mengdey further rejected the regular bail plea of four accused who have been booked in the case. 

    The persons who have been granted bail are Rajeshbhai Narsinhbhai Makwana who was reportedly an assistant town planning officer, Jaydipbhai Balubhai Choudhary who was stated to be an assistant engineer and Gautam Devshankar Joshi who was also stated to be an assistant town planning officer at the time. 

    The persons whose bail pleas were rejected are Ileshkumar Valabhai Kher who was the city's Chief Fire Officer, Ashoksinh Jagdishsinh Jadeja reportedly one of the co-owners of TRP Game Zone, Kiritsinh @ Kiritbhai Jagdishsinh Jadeja reportedly a joint co-owner of the land on which the game zone stood, and Mansukhbhai Dhanajibhai Sagathiya who was stated to be the city town planning officer. 

    After the high court pronounced the order allowing the regular bail pleas of the Makwana, Choudhary and Joshi, the State's counsel made a request before the court to stay the grant of bail to the three applicants. 

    Noting the request the court said, "however the request cannot be acceded to hence rejected". 

    The applicants had been booked under various IPC Sections including 304 (Punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder), 308 (Attempt to commit culpable homicide), 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 338 (Causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 114 (Abettor present when offence is committed).
