Gujarat Government on Tuesday informed the Gujarat High Court that it has allowed the candidates with benchmark disability to appear with scribe for the TET-II exam on April 23.
A petition was filed before the High Court challenging the action of the State in not providing the scribe in accordance with the guidelines of Central and State Government for conducting the written examination for the person with benchmark disabilities.
It was submitted by the petitioners that the person with benchmark disabilities as per the guideline dated July 18, 2017 are to provide the scribe for appearing in the written examination to be conducted on April 23, 2023.
Assistant Government Pleader, Jyoti Bhat submitted that all the petitioners are allowed to appear with the scribe as referred in Government of India, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) O.M. dated August 29, 2018 for examination of TET-II to be conducted on April 23, 2023.
The single judge bench of Justice Mauna M. Bhatt noted:
“Considering the decision taken by the respondent-State and conveyed by Mr. M. G. Vyas, Secretary, Education Department, as the grievance of the petitioners are redressed, learned advocate for the petitioners does not press the present petition.”
Accordingly, the court disposed of the petition.
