Union Govt Notifies Appointment Of Justice Yarenjungla Longkumer As Additional Judge Of Gauhati High Court

Justice Yarenjungla Longkumer has been appointed as Additional Judge of the Gauhati High Court by the official notification issued by the Union Law Ministry dated February 12. Her name was recommended by the Supreme Court Collegium on January 4, 2024, for appointment as Additional Judge.
Justice Longkumer did her matriculation in the year 1983 from Little Flower School, Kohima, and obtained BA (Hons) from Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi in the year 1988. After completing an LLB from Campus Law Center Delhi in the year 1992, she enrolled in the Bar Council of North East on November 03, 1992, under Gauhati High Court.
She was recruited as District and Session Judge Kohima on April 10, 2013, and thereafter, served as Special Judge Lokayukta, Sessions Judge Dimapur (twice), Registrar Kohima Bench and Secretary Judicial Law Department Govt. of Nagaland.
Justice Longkumer is the first woman amongst the Nagas to be appointed as the Judge of the High Court.
