The Delhi High Court on Wednesday launched a free Wi-Fi facility for lawyers and the general public.

In phase I, the free Wi-Fi facility will be available at 'A' Block, 'B' Block, 'C' Block, Extension Block, Mediation Centre, & Lawyers' Cafeteria.

The facility was launched today by Acting Justice Manmohan at the B Block Lawyers' Cafeteria, in the presence of Justice Rajiv Shakdher (Chairman of Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence & Accessibility Committee) and its members- Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, Justice Sanjeev Narula, Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav, Justice Swarana Kanta Sharma and Justice Girish Kathpalia, along with other judges.

Apart from the free Wi-Fi facility, the judges also launched the e-True Copy Application, Soft-launched Delhi High Court's new website and a Virtual Tour of Delhi High Court – Phase-I.

The new website is fully compliant with the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW) and has been designed to improve accessibility, usability, and the overall user experience for various stakeholders including lawyers, litigants and the general public.

It offers all the e-facilities for advocates and litigants in a dedicated grid.

The Virtual Tour of the Delhi High Court will provide a glimpse of the court premises to the viewers and is a simulation of an existing location, usually composed of a sequence of videos, still images or 360-degree images.

In the launch event, Acting Chief Justice Manmohan said that all four projects will ensure more accessibility to the Delhi High Court not only for the lawyers but also the litigants.

“Let me share a secret with you see. In this court, the administration is carried out by the judges themselves. Nearly each and every function of this court is assigned to a committee and each committee comprises of around five to seven judges. Each and every decision is taken by the committee of this court. Therefore, you will find that our court is unique. It is regarded as a trendsetter, as a torchbearer of all reforms that take place,” the ACJ said.

He also thanked the predecessor judges of the Delhi High Court for the robust administrative machinery.
