    Former BharatPe Managing Director Ashneer Grover, his wife Madhuri Jain Grover and various others have moved the Delhi High Court seeking quashing of Delhi Police's Economic Offences Wing's FIR (EOW) registered last year after recent settlement of their disputes with the fintech company.

    Justice Chandra Dhari Singh heard the matter on October 03 and directed the APP appearing for Delhi Police to file a status report within two days.

    The plea seeks quashing of the FIR which was registered under Sections 406, 408, 409, 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120B of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.

    The FIR was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by BharatPe. It was alleged that there was misappropriation of funds and that a loss of about Rs. 80 crores was caused to the fintech company.

    The accused in the case are Madhuri Jain Grover, Ashneer Grover, Deepak Jagdishram Gupta, Shwetank Jain and Suresh Jain.

    The counsel appearing for the Grovers and others submitted that the matter was settled between the parties vide a settlement agreement entered into on September 30.

    He sought some time to file an affidavit regarding the compliance of the terms of the settlement agreement.

    “Let the same be filed within two days,” the court ordered.

    It further directed BharatPe's Director to file an authorization letter issued to him on behalf of the fintech company.

    The matter will now be heard on October 08.
