The Allahabad High Court has called for explanation from Section Officer for sending report that about 200 case files of a bunch case were said to be not traceable.

A bunch of writ petitions have been filed before the Allahabad High Court challenging the quantum as well as levy of additional compensation demanded from the lessees who have leased land from Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority in the State of U.P. The additional compensation is being recovered from the lessees pursuant to the judgment of the Allahabad High Court in Gajraj and others Vs. State of U.P. and others where the High Court had directed the GNIDA to pay additional compensation @64.7% to landowners of 41 villages of Greater Noida and 25 villages of Noida.

The bunch of writ petitions was listed before the bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Gupta and Justice Kshitij Shailendra. Since the files were not received in the courtroom, the Court was informed that the Office had sent a report stating that the files were not traceable.

As about 200 cases are listed at serial No. 3083 and, therefore, we are not ready to accept that the files were not traceable. It seems that Office is shirking from its duties and has deliberately not sent the files,” observed the Court.

The Court directed the Section Officer to explanation regarding the same.
