On 4th March 2025, Justice Suresh Kumar Kait, Chief Justice of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh & Patron-in-Chief of the M.P. State Legal Services Authority, Jabalpur, virtually inaugurated the newly built 11 Mediation Centers at Tehsil-Sirmour & Teonthar in District Rewa, Tehsil-Rampur Baghelan & Nagod in District Satna, Tehsil-Luvkush Nagar in District Chhatarpur, Tehsil-Jatara & Niwari in District Tikamgarh, Tehsil-Nalkheda in District Agar-Malwa, Tehsil-Khilchipur & Jeerapur in District Rajgarh, and Tehsil-Jawad in District Neemuch. The inauguration took place in the esteemed presence of Portfolio Judges of the respective districts and Companion Judges of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh.
On this occasion, Justice Suresh Kumar Kait, Chief Justice of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh & Patron-in-Chief, in his inaugural address, expressed that dispute resolution is the foundation of a fair and just society. He emphasized that when conflicts are addressed swiftly and amicably, they not only uphold the rule of law but also strengthen the very fabric of our communities. By inaugurating these mediation centers, The Chief Justice stated that mediation is more than just a method of resolving disputes; it is a bridge that connects individuals, offering them the opportunity to resolve their conflicts through open dialogue, mutual respect, and cooperation. This process empowers people to take control of their issues, finding solutions that work for all parties involved—without the need for lengthy, costly court battles.
He further highlighted that with the inauguration of these centers, a total of 102 Mediation Centers will be operational across the State. This milestone is a testament to collective efforts to bring justice closer to the people, ensuring that every citizen has access to a place where disputes can be resolved quickly, fairly, and amicably. With a total sanctioned amount of Rs. 5.16 Crores, each center is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including two official meeting halls, two office rooms, two mediation rooms, a waiting area, and ramps for persons with disabilities. These centers are designed to be accessible and inclusive, ensuring that women, children, and persons with disabilities can engage in the mediation process with dignity and ease.
The program was attended by Shri Dharminder Singh, Registrar General of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh; Shri Pradeep Mittal, Member Secretary of MPSLSA; Shri Krishnamurthy Mishra, Director of MPSJA; Registry Officers of the High Court of Madhya Pradesh; Chairmen and Secretaries of the respective District Legal Services Authorities; Chairmen of Taluka Legal Services Committees; Judicial Officers; representatives of the respective Bar Associations; and Officers of MPSLSA.
