    The second year of the Delhi Arbitration Weekend (DAW), organised by the Supreme Court of India, the High Court of Delhi, and the Delhi International Arbitration Centre from 6th March 2024 to 10th March 2024, was officially inaugurated at the Supreme Court Auditorium, New Delhi . The inauguration session was chaired by Chief Guest, Dr. Justice D. Y. Chandrachud, Chief Justice of India along with Justice Judith Prakash, Senior Judge, Supreme Court of Singapore, and Justice Manmohan, Acting Chief Justice, High Court of Delhi.

    The Journal of the DIAC, 'Delhi Arbitration Review' was released by Dr. Justice D. Y. Chandrachud, Justice Judith Prakash, Justice Manmohan, and in the presence of Justice Vibhu Bakhru and Justice Rekha Palli, at the inauguration.

    The session was titled, 'Understanding the Unsaid: Biases in Arbitration and the Role of Tribunals and Courts'. The session was attended by acting and retired judges of the Supreme Court, High Courts and District Courts, the Solicitor General of India, Additional Solicitor Generals of India, Members of the SCBA and DHBA, Senior Advocates, Advocates and Arbitrators from India many foreign jurisdictions..

    The session opened with the welcome address by the Justice Manmohan, Acting Chief Justice, High Court of Delhi. He remarked that the five day-long event is inspired by the test match format in Cricket for it tests the players to their maximum potential. He also presented his insightful views on the theme of the session and remarked that the efficacy of the judicial system is an important distinguishing feature for the success of arbitration processes.

    In the keynote address presented by Justice Judith Prakash, Senior Judge, Supreme Court of Singapore, she unpacked the theme of the session in a structured and detailed manner while focusing on apparent bias and institutional/ systemic bias. She discussed legal principles and practices concerning biases in international arbitrations while focusing on precedents that shape the jurisprudence of bias in India and Singapore.

    The inaugural session concluded with the plenary address presented by Chief Guest, Justice D. Y. Chandrachud, the Chief Justice of India. He presented his thoughts on the issues of diversity in the selection of arbitrators and its direct correlation to addressing issues of bias.

    The DAW promises to be a successful representation of India in International Arbitration.
