    The High Court of Madhya Pradesh under the aegis of Justice Ravi Malimath, Chief Justice and Patron-in-Chief, MP SLSA took a unique step by offering Pro bono Capacity Building Programme for aspirants of the Civil Judge, Junior Division (Entry Level) Recruitment Preliminary Exam– 2022 especially for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC and other reserved category.

    It was observed that posts which were reserved for SC, ST, OBC and other reserved category remained vacant year after year. In order to remedy this, Justice Malimath envisioned a special training programme for aspirants of the Civil Judges, Junior Division (Entry Level) Recruitment Preliminary Exam – 2022. The main object of offering the said programme is to provide equal resources and training to such aspirants who do not have access to resources which are available to other aspirants. While addressing the gathering at the inaugural, the Chief Justice informed that a similar initiative was taken up by the High Court for aspirants of the Higher Judicial Service and based on the positive feedback received from the participants, this programme has now been introduced for aspirants of Civil Judges, Junior Division.

    He pointed out the objectives of the programme and expressed that it is a constitutional mandate to provide equal opportunity to the SC, ST, OBC and other reserved category. That the High Court is deeply concerned to ensure that each and every section of the Society comes to the main stream as early as possible. That the participants would also get an equal opportunity as much as anyone else so far as the exam is concerned. This programme has been designed to fulfill the above object.

    The programme will consist of a total of 50 Sessions with an aim to cover topics included in the syllabus for the candidates preparing for the exam. The Sessions on scheduled topics will be managed by the legal experts of the Judicial Academy i.e. Professors, Judicial Officers, Advocates etc. Regular classes will be conducted every week from Monday to Saturday between 5.30 PM to 7.30 PM. A total of about 1441 applications from interested aspirants to participate in the programme have been received. The entire programme is free of charge.

    The programme is being organized in joint collaboration of Madhya Pradesh State Judicial Academy and Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority. Justice Sheel Nagu, Executive Chairman, MP SLSA and Justice Vivek Agrawal, Chairman, High Court Legal Service Committee, Jabalpur were present on the occasion. All the judges of Jabalpur Bench were also present.
