Internet Freedom Foundation and CivicDataLab are launching the Zombie Tracker, a platform that aims to map all the instances in which Section 66A of the IT Act has been invoked despite being deemed unconstitutional by the Supreme Court of India in Shreya Singhal v Union of India. The Zombie Tracker will track cases that include a charge under S.66A at the district level, across 11 states Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Delhi, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and West Bengal.
The launch event includes:
- A conversation between IFF Staffer Ms. Anushka Jain and a person affected by Section 66A
- A walk-through of the platform conducted by IFF and Civic Data Labs,
- A panel discussion between Mr. Abhinav Sekhri, Ms. Sanjana Srikumar and Mr. Apoorv Anand moderated by IFF Staffer Ms. Devdutta Mukhopadhyay.
