Disputes resolution today is a far more complex exercise than what has captured popular imagination for years, namely the theatrics of the litigator. Significant strategic thinking regarding high stake disputes happens as much in boardrooms as courtrooms. Regulatory practice has lent another dimension to this area, testing lawyering skills in front of tribunals established to bring in sectoral knowledge and technical expertise in adjudication. Finally, alternate dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration have attained greater importance than ever before.
