4th Project 39A Annual Lecture 'Looking Beyond the Crime: BioPsychoSocial Insights for Criminal Law.'

Considered to be among India's leading psychiatrists, Dr. Murthy's lecture will reflect on cutting edge interdisciplinary research on biological, psychological, and sociological factors that influence crime and criminality. In many ways, it will pose a challenge to the traditional understanding of criminal law and will demonstrate the need for criminal law to seriously engage with the learnings from different fields on criminal behaviour. The lecture will also draw attention to the role which psychologists, sociologists, social workers, health practitioners and professionals from other such fields can play in the criminal justice system.
