The NGT on Wednesday, directed reconstitution of a Committee for furnishing analysis reports in the case of the air pollution caused due to discharging chemicals and gas emissions by Jublient Industries, in Uttar Pradesh. Such discharge had affected the health of several inhabitants in the area.
The NGT had previously ordered the District Magistrate of Amroha in Uttar Pradesh and the State Pollution Control Board (UPSPCB) in March, 2019 to furnish a factual and an action report on the matter. Although such report was furnished April, 2019 based on an inspection carried out analysis of samples during inspection was awaited at the time of furnishing the report.
However, when even after two months, analysis report was still yet to be furnished, the NGT expressing its shock, ordered the reconstitution of the Committee by including a representative of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) and a report to be submitted by them within one month.
The State PCB was appointed as the nodal agency for coordination.
