Principal Bench of National Green Tribunal has directed the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC), Delhi Jal Board (DJB) and SDM, Dwarka to submit a factual and action tale report on report, on a complaint alleging dumping of garbage and sewage by hawkers as well as vehicles at the land belonging to Irrigation and Flood Department near Najafgarh...
Principal Bench of National Green Tribunal has directed the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC), Delhi Jal Board (DJB) and SDM, Dwarka to submit a factual and action tale report on report, on a complaint alleging dumping of garbage and sewage by hawkers as well as vehicles at the land belonging to Irrigation and Flood Department near Najafgarh drain, affecting local residents and nearby schools.
Federation of Vikas Nagar Residents Welfare Association, had moved the tribunal claiming that regular burning of garbage is also taking place including plastic and toxic waste material. There is continuous evacuation of sewage in Najafgarh drain. This is affecting the students of Govt. Girls Sr. Secondary School, Hastsal, New Delhi, Govt. Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalay, Janta Flats, Hastsal, New Delhi, Govt. Girl Sr. Secondary School, Shiv Vihar, Hastsal, New Delhi, Govt. Boy Sr. Secondary School, Shiv Vihar Hastsal, 2 New Delhi, SDMC Primary School, Hastsal, New Delhi, SDMC Girl, Pratibha School, Shiv Vihar, Hastsal, New Delhi and SDMC Boy Pratibha School, Shiv Vihar, Hastsal, New Delhi and the inhabitants of the area.
Following which the tribunal issued the directions and posted the matter for further hearing on January 28, 2020.
