The troubles for the Ansals do not seem to end. CMM Patiala House Courts, Dr. Pankaj Sharma in CC No. 1762/2016 has ordered registration of FIR against Sushil Ansal and Gopal Ansal’s son Pranav Ansal among others while exercising his powers u/s 156(3) CrPC in a petition filed by 14 investors against Ansal Hi Tech Townships Ltd. which is allegedly a subsidiary of ANSAL API Top Real Estate Developer.

In a nutshell the brief facts are that the accused company came out with a plan to develop a township namely Sushant Megapolis in 2008 in Greater NOIDA and published its advertisement in leading news papers with the assurance of the completion in time. The accused company of which the Ansals are allegedly the Managing Directors assured the general public that all layout and zonal plans were already approved and the township shall be self sustained civic services with best of amenities. The complainants believed the same to be true on such representation and booked plots and executed builder buyer agreements. However even after 5 years from the dates of booking, neither was the money refunded nor the property was delivered to the complainants.

The Court has now posted the matter for compliance report on 06.05.2017. Pertinently, in the Uphaar Cinema Tragedy, Gopal Ansal has been convicted and sentenced to serve his remaining term and is presently lodged in jail and Sushil Ansal, (against whom registration of FIR has been ordered) though convicted was excused from serving imprisonment.e
