Christ University wins GNLU Securities and Investment Law Moot

The Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) recently conducted the 1st edition of GMSIL (GNLU Moot on Securities and Investment Law) which was held from 11th -13th September, 2015 with Christ University School of Law lifting the trophy and Army Institute of Law finishing as the runner’s up.
The inaugural edition of GMSIL which was started to develop the research and advocacy skills of students in the area of Securities and Investment Law and the moot Problem was based on the new insider trading regulations and the forum of adjudication of the dispute for this edition of the competition was the Securities Appellate Tribunal. The inaugural edition with 26 teams participating from across the country, was inaugurated on September 11, 2015.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by the presence of Dr. Bimal Patel, Director, GNLU; Dr. Thomas Mathew, Registrar, GNLU; Dr. MamtaBiswal, Dean of Academic Affairs, GNLU and Mr. Girish R., GMSIL Faculty Convenor. The participants received a welcome kit comprising of GMSIL Folder, a GMSIL t-shirt and cookies with a special handwritten Good Luck note for each participant. The participants were duly oriented with the rules and regulations of the competition. The final Round was judged by a distinguished Panel of experts in securities and investment laws comprising of Hon'ble (Mr.) Justice AkilKureshi, Judge at the Gujarat HC, Mr. Biswajit Bhattacharya, Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India and Former ASG, Mr. Sandeep Parekh, Founder of Finsec Law Advisors, Mr. MihirThakore, Senior Advocate at the Gujarat HC and Ms. Dharmishtha Raval, Advocate at the Gujarat HC and Member of the SEBI Advisory Committee on Mutual Funds.
