Call for Campus Representatives

Society for Research in Law, a society registered under Indian Societies Registration Act, 1860, is seeking to induct new people in order to further its goal to promote research and careers in field of International Law.

The Society for Research in Law (SRIL) is a student-based organisation created primary for three goals: to facilitate, encourage and conduct meaningful research in the field of International Law. With the growing relevance and influence of IL in legal affairs across the country, we at SRIL believe that the need to consolidate this untapped potential for research has never been greater.Through SRIL we hope to encourage academic discussion, cultural exchange of ideas and to generally provide a forum for students to actively pursue an interest in international law.

The Society has successfully organized an essay competition on International Criminal Law, a Research Project on International Investment Law and maintains a blog at www.srilindia.org/blog. It has also started an initiative called India and International Law where we look at domestication of international law in India. The Society has announced International Criminal Law Workshop from 27^th-29^th October 2015 at Lucknow.

The Society has decided to expand its team in view of the terrific response received to the last two events and increased workload due to ambitious events proposed. The society will be looking forward to induct:

1. Programmer General: Any law student/ engineering student/grad with experience in managing websites/blogs and content management software. Experience with Adobe Photoshop/GIMP will be preferred.

2. Campus Representatives: Any student enrolled in 5 year integrated B.A.,LL.B or any other equivalent course are eligible to apply. However, the student must have some interest or experience in International Law.

The selection will be a two stage process: Interested students are requested to apply with their CV and a 800 word essay/article on International Law, If you have been published on International Law in any journal, please send us the said article. The selected candidates will be then subjected to a telephonic interview.

Campus Ambassadors will be offered membership of the society within 6 months of their appointment, if the society deems fit. A certificate to that effect shall be issued. The engagement will be annual.

As Campus Rep, you will be required to publicize and inform your college/students about the SRIL initiatives and events. You will be coordinating with the Core Members in organizing research and promoting international law in your university.
