Allahabad HC Chief Justice DB Bhosale Retires Today, Justice Govind Mathur Appointed As Acting CJ

The Centre, on Tuesday, notified the appointment of Justice Govind Mathur as the Acting Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court.

He will be assuming office from October 24, consequent upon the retirement of Chief Justice DB Bhosale today.

Justice Mathur initially practiced in the Rajasthan High Court at Jodhpur. He also worked as the Standing Counsel for University of Rajasthan, Jaipur, Indian Oil Corporation, Water & Power Consultancy Services, New Delhi, National Teacher's Education Council, Rajasthan Vidyapeeth, Bhilwara Central Co-operative Bank, Central Bank of India, Thar Anchalik Gramin Bank, and Punjab National Bank.

He was finally transferred to the Allahabad High Court, where he took oath on November 21, 2017.
