Adv. Balasaheb Apte College’s Mock Trial, Moot Court and Judgement Writing Competition [28th-30th Sept]

People’s Education Society’s, Adv. Balasaheb Apte College of Law, is hosting its sixth edition of the National Level Inter-Collegiate Mock Trial, Moot Court and Judgement Writing Competition.

Dates: 28^th to 30^thSeptember, 2018

Venue: Adv. Balasaheb Apte College of Law, Dadar (West), Mumbai.

This Annual Event of Adv. Balasaheb Apte College of Law, Mumbai is hosted in the fond memory of Late Senior Advocate Shri. Balwant Parshuram Apte (widely known as Adv. Balasaheb Apte), a distinguished legal luminary and also a noted parliamentarian.

This year, the premise of the competition is based on issues of misuse of medical technology, giving rise to societal evils like pre-natal sex determination and the consequent elimination of the girl child.

The participants shall get an opportunity to experience the proceedings of a trial court and the Hon’ble Supreme Court as well. The preliminary rounds shall be in the nature of trial advocacy in the Court of Sessions, the subsequent rounds will be a Moot Court arising out of a Writ Petition filed in the Hon’ble Supreme Court challenging the constitutional validity of certain provisions of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act, 1994.

Registration:

• The Competition shall have an intake of only 24 teams on a first come-first serve basis.


• Participating institutions shall provisionally register themselves by writing to mootabacl@gmail.com from their respective official e-mail ids (Kindly note, that registrations made by private/personal email ids, shall not be entertained in any case).


• Registration shall be acknowledged only on receipt of the Registration Form (soft copy). Institutions, on receiving the said acknowledgment, must proceed with the dispatch of the Registration Form (hard copy), Travel Form (in case of outstation participants) and the Participation charges (by way of Demand Draft).
