With the ongoing admission process to various colleges in Delhi University, the Delhi High Court on Tuesday directed that all students and colleges be informed that all admissions would be subject CBSE revaluation class 12 answer sheets as per it's order.
A bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal directed DU to inform all concerned about the same.
"...notice has to be taken of the fact that the admissions in the University of Delhi are ongoing. The applicability of the directions passed in the previous judgments requires to be examined. The above directions would bind the consideration by this court as well"
"Therefore, as a matter of abundant caution, the students who are seeking admission as well as the colleges need to be kept informed about the pendency of the present writ petition and the fact that the process of re-evaluation of marks by the CBSE on the request of some of the students is underway. As a result, the merit position of the students could change substantially," the bench noted.
"In view of the above, it is directed that the admissions effected pursuant to CBSE examination conducted in March/April, 2017 shall be subject to the final outcome of the present writ petition.
It ordered that it's the "responsibility of the University of Delhi to make public as well as inform all the colleges regarding this position and to put the students, seeking admission to the courses, to notice about the order passed today".
The Bench has now called for a status report in this regard.
The court has last week directed the CBSE to accept all requests for revaluation of class 12 answer sheets and revaluation them forthwith.
The court order had come on a petition moved by four students against CBSE limiting the revaluation to 11 subjects.
