    A Full Bench of the Karnataka High Court will hear petitions filed by Muslim students challenging Hijab Ban in colleges at 2.30 PM today.

    A single bench had referred the petitions to larger bench yesterday observing that "questions of seminal importance" are involved.

    The single bench also said that the question of interim relief will be considered by the larger bench.

    The matter is before a bench comprising Chief Justice Ritu Raj Awasthi, Justice Krishna S Dixit and Justice JM Khazi will hear the petitions today at 2.30 PM.

      Hegde : I would request your lordhsips to suggest to the state to work out and not leave it to CDC. I would agree with Kamat that it would not be healthy to leave it to the CDC, as they may not see the big picture.

      Hegde : There are very deep rooted questions of identity here. I heard the Advocate General say yesterday there are multiple interpretations of Quran. There may be multiple interpretations of Article 14 and 21 but they come to the aid of all.

      Hegde : There is wisdom in taking a middle path till the Court decides. It can be resolved at the PUC college level and a wise govt can resolve it.

      Hegde : This is not just a case of essential religious practice. This is also a case of essential education for the girl child.
