Pursuant to a meeting held on January 29, 2020, the Supreme Court Collegium has reiterated its recommendation to elevate Advocate Aniruddha Roy as Judge of the Calcutta High Court.

Earlier, the Collegium had recommended his name vide resolution dated October 24, 2018. However, the Centre did not move forward with that recommendation.

Vide the same resolution the Collegium had also proposed to elevate Advocate Saugata Bhattacharyya. But his name does not find mention in the latest recommendation.
